Designed on the basis of net information, Juriscope proposes documentation services to legal professionals, public authorities, and institutions that represent various professional groups. In this respect, our services vary from a simple delivery of requested documents (statutes, court decisions, etc.) to a more elaborate documentary service (adding our commentaries, analyses, comparatives studies, etc) in the language of our client. We do this in all domains of law and for all countries in the world.

Going beyond the traditional functions of a documentation centre or a library, Juriscope carries out multiple functions. For this purpose, it relies on :

After consolidating its first experience, Juriscope has diversified its activities in closely-related areas of its principal mission.
Juriscope has been instrumental in developing the spread of information in European law by publishing a CD-ROM named Transposial, in collaboration with the TRANSACTIVE company. This CD-ROM features the totality of European directives and their transposition into French law.
Juriscope has also produced an Internet guide called Jurisite on CD-ROM. The index provided on this CD-ROM enables one to get access to more than one thousand selected legal sites. Moreover, Juriscope offers training to the university community, especially to Doctorate departments and directors of Master’s programs (i.e. DEA), wishing to familiarise them with the new information technology.
These activities have encouraged public authorities to invite Juriscope to participate in their own programs regarding law circulation. In this manner, it shared a good deal in the translation of basic French law, including the Codes, into English and Spanish. The selection of Juriscope for such works is undoubtedly justified by its previous experience with French Co-operation in the name of which it leads the project as master of works. In that quality, it supervised the translation into English and Portuguese of the OHADA Treaty (Organisation pour l’Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires) and of the six uniform Acts.
The promotion of uniform African commercial law, inspired by the French model, has led the Ministry of foreign affairs, in view of the lack of initiative from the private sector, to request Juriscope to ensure the publication of the OHADA Code (so far, 8000 copies have been printed) commented by African lawyers (law professors and practitioners) and printed by an African printing house. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Juriscope is currently involved in, the preparation of university materials devoted to OHADA and a quarterly review dedicated to uniform African law which will mobilise university professors and major law firms.
Juriscope also has a role in research proceedings. Indeed, the National Centre for Scientific Research is a founding member of the original Juriscope Grouping. On the other hand, Juriscope is a member of the Groupement de Recherche (GDR) of comparative law and has taken an important part in a study of access to and the implementation of a network of documentary resources in several centres in France.

As the original structure in the form of a Groupement d’Intérêt Public expired in June 2000, the partners have wished to reinforce their partnership in Research. To this end, they decided to establish a new structure called "Unité Mixte de Services" (UMS) under the supervision of C.N.R.S. This new structure helps Juriscope maintain its activities with the aim of creating its own Internet server and new activities in legal studies and research adapted to the new documentary resources, promoting the laws of French-speaking countries and the circulation of French law abroad.
